YouTube offers pay per view online streaming movie

YouTube is planning to offer pay-per-view movie that will be available on the site for any YouTube visitor. For an entertainment geek, this is a good news, which in return bringing in more personal entertainment better than ever. However, Google spokesman does not tell when YouTube will offers pay per view movie on the site.

I doubt will it be opened for a paid registered members only?. Right now, YouTube is filled with millions of free registered members.

Another question, which payment provider will be used by YouTube a payment processor? Will iy be PayPal? Does YouTube lovers in Malaysia able to afford it?

Google is making the internet as the big source for entertainment by making YouTube as the "online cinema" where you can watch any movies you want, streamlined directly into your screen, anywhere you go, as long as internet connection still availabe.

I love the idea. I can watch my favorite movies on YouTube, as long it does not stuck for a while and the movie does not has on-screen Adsense advertisement in it.

iPad rival - KT Identity Tab

KT is the biggest fixed lione telecommmunication provider in South Korea. KT is planning to release their new tablet laptop called “Identity Tab” during September 2010, in collaboration with Enspert, a portable divice maker company.

The new tablet laptop is quite similar to iPad in the outside, has a webcam and has the same sensitive multi touch screen as the iPad. The operating system for this new tablet laptop will be Google Android, while no news about what Adnroid's version will be installed in it later.

53th Malaysia independence day - 31 August 2010

This is the 53th Malaysia Independence Day. I was 29th year old, still a virgin, still single at the day celebrating this big day in our country.

It is a public holiday for us here in malaysia. Kota Kinabalu city will roaming with tourists, local folks and younsters looking for some entertainment while a large crowd building up to celebrate the Independence Day.

I will be at Padang Merdeka in the morning to see Merdeka events held there. I've planned to watch 2 movies today. All alone.

Blogging for money is not my intention of keeping a technology blog

Most of my friends here do blogging for second source of income. For me personally, I dont use blogging as my source of income.

Its a passion. Blogging is a passion for me, personally, seriously. Money is not a boost for me.

I love to searech for new information, new software, downloading it, testing it, see what its doing best, what's not best and comparison with another software. I love the process of doing all that.

I want to do tech blogging FULL TIME. My personal ido is Peter ROjas, the man who founded Engadget. I'm not a gadget geek, I just love to test some software.

I hate my job. Eventhough I'm working as an information technology office, I really hate it because we got a lt off complaints, problems, friends beat you up in a meeting, bosses keep finding what you've done wrong.

I love blogging and I wanna do it full time so I can find more tips, guides and any information that I've found useful. I pray a lot, one day I want to quit my day time job and do blogging full time, I dont care if I do it from morning to midnight.

How to delete a file without throwing it into Recycle Bin

You can delete any file permanently without throwing it into Recycle Bin. To delete a file, select it first by clicking on it. The file name will turns blue, a sign it is ready to receive any command.

Then, press Shift + Delete keys on your keyboard. A confirmation blox will comes out asking you if you really sure if you want to delete the file. Press YES.

The file will be deleted automatically after you pressed the button. No need to throw it away into Recycle Bin later.

Warning! The deleted file cannot be recovered. The deletion process cannot be undone.

Download Google Chrome 7.0.503.0 Alpha [new browser]

Google Chrome 7 for Windows computers has been released recently.

This is the new version of Google Chrome, a free fast web browser made by Google. I was using Google chrome 6 Beta in computer at the time I've stumbled upon this news. Wow, Google Chrome changed so fast!

Try out Google Chrome 7.0.503.0 Alpha now, downloadable from FileHippo. The setup file is offline version sized at 20.59MB. It takes 12-20 minutes of downloading process to complete, depend on your internet connection speed.

There's nothing new in this new web browser. The design, interface, simplicity, the blue default color, the new tab page is very similar to features found in Google Chrome 6. I'm expecting Google Chrome 7 to be faster than Google Chrome 6.

Will update you later about its stability, speed and compitability with different extensions.

Avast 5.0 - how to activate Avast antivirus license in your computer using a free email

Avast antivirus is popular antivirus software apart from AVG Free Antivirus and Avira AntiVir free edition antivirus. I've installed Avast 5.0 in my computer and testing it for a few months. Avast is light and loads fast during computer startup.

Even it is a free antivirus, Avast 5.0 will give you a 30 day trial period. You need to register for a free license valid for 3 years. My license (during the time of writing) expires on 24 June 2011. If your computer always connected to the internte, you can use a free email to register for a free licence valid for one year

All you need to do is to follow these steps..

1. Open Avast 5 main user interface.

2. Click on to Maintenance section (or the Summary section of the front panel), click to 'Registration information'.

3. If your internet connection is OK, type your email address in the registration box and click Activate button. Another box will appear, asking you some question about another security softwaer that you would like to use, such as spyware blocker.

4. Finally, click 'register for free licence' button. Your license will turns green, means yourt registration is done and you got no problem with your Avast license.

Next step, please update your internal virus database regularly for Avast to recognize new kind of computer virus then deletes it if there's any virus detected during a scan in your computer.

5 steps how to install Google Chrome web browser directly via the internet

Here are the 5 steps on how to install Google Chrome web browser directly via the internet, just in case your computer does not have it. No installation CD needed, you need a stable internet connection using a broadband USB modem of fixed line such as TmNet Streamyx.

Step 1:

You can install Google Chrome web browser directly from the internet by clicking into it's Terms and Condition page that looks like the image below. After you have agreed to the said terms and conditions, please click the button named with " Accept and install". You dont have to read all the stated terms, most users do that. I dont read that until the last sentence either.

Step 2:

If you dont want Google Chrome to send crash report and your personal usage statistic to developers via the internet due to your personal security reason, dont click the box named with "Help make Google Chrome better by automatically sending usage statistics and crash reports to Google". Leave it. This is optional, not necessarily needed when you want to install Google Chrome directly from the internet. Proceed to the next step.

Step 3:

Next, after you've clicked 'Accept and install' button, Google Chrome web installer will initialize downloading process of the setup file into your computer (the hard disc). Download process may take a while depends on your internet connection speed. The normal time is 7 to 15 minutes. When the internet connection is fast, the browser installs in seconds and start automatically less than a minute (but, you need to have a fast internet connection!)

Step 4:

After the download compeletes, double click the setup file. I suggest you to put the downloaded setup file on your Desktop folder for smoother installation process. The installation will finish within seconds, delayed only by exporting process from Internet Explorer or the other default browser in your computer.

Step 5:

After Google Chrome starts, it will ask you if you want to use it as your default web browser. If you want to test it before using Google Chrome as your default web browser, please click No. But, if you happy with Google Chrome and you want to change the setting, you can don't that via Tools button on the top right corner within Google Chrome.

There you go. Installtion completes. You can now browser the web freely.

Facebook is working on smaller web view

Facebook is now working on new web layout on their website. The company is changing their website's page width into 520 pixels, which makes the front page looks smaller, as a comply to Web 2.0 feature. Many large web companies are doing the same, including Yahoo.

If you open up Yahoo website, you will see the smaller page layout, which enable centered reading. Yahoo gives you freedom to change the layout, either you want to read their webpage in larger view (700 pixels) or in compact view (in smaller 500 pixels). You need to sign in using your Yahoo Mail account to enable the feature.

Yahoo also called the compact view as 'narrow layout' as you see in the image above. Move your mouse pointer on to the view setting and you will see a hove notification that says 'switch to narrow layout'.

Lady 'Ga ga' Twitter becomes most followed female Twitter account on the planet

Its official. Lady Gaga (pronouced as "Ga ga") is now the queen of Twitter.

Why? Because Lady Gaga has 5,751,146 followers in her Twitter account.

The number beats second largets Twitter account for a female around the world, owned by Briteney Spears. Britney's Twitter account has 5,701,236 followers.

Lady Gaga calls her Twitter followers as 'little monsters', an inspiration to her.

At the time I opened her Twitter account, the current number of her followers reached 5,778,030. If you click on the number, you will see a complete list of who is following Lady Gaga in Twitter right now.

That is a huge list of names to scroll down into.

Various web browsers - Opera 10.50 Beta

Wait, this is not Chinese Opera, a free show for you to see.

Opera is official name for a web browser. Its icon is a bright right oval shape, resembing the letter 'O'.

Opera web browser is one of the fast free web browsers apart from Google Chrome 6, Mozilla Firefox 3.6 and Safari 4. At the time I write this, I'm using Opera 10.50 Beta (testing version) in my computer, runs on by Windows Xp service pack 2.

Actually, Opera 10.50 Beta is an outdated version. The official version (final release) is Opera 10.61 like you see in the image above.

When I open up Opera, the web browser asks me to update into the latest version. I've disabled the auto-update feature because it slows down my internet speed, so I need to download the latest version manually on the other day.

There's a lot of feature to be explored in Opera. When you start it, the frontal view is very simple, similar to a view you can see in Google Chrome 5 or Google Chrome 6.

Opera will guide you to the intro page at the first time you use it. Its the same thing in Mozilla Firefox where Firefox opens up welcome page each time you using it for the first time in your computer (or any computer you've installed it).

Opera gives you total freedom to personalized the setting.

You can set the Toolbar to display Navigation Bar, or otherwise you can choose not to use the Navigation Bar (a bar with Back/Forth button on it) while browsing the webpages. Google Chrome 6 does not installed with this feature.

Mozilla Firefox 4 Beta 2 with new Tab on top function

I've just installed Mozilla Firefox 4 Beta 2 in my computer a couple of weeks ago to see what new features it brigs out. I've noticed several differences while using it.

The Back/Forth button design is more beautiful than than Firefox 3.6. When you hove your mouse pointer on Back/Forth button, those button turned blue with a little smokey shadow effect around them, means each one of them are active.

If you hover your mouse to the taskbar ( a bar displays commands such as File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools) try to right click on it. You will see a dialog box appearing with a new command named "Tabs on top". This command enable you to put the tabs above the address bar and the Back/Forth button.

If you unclick the "Tabs on top" command, the tabs will return to their original position below address bar as usual, just like we see in Firefox 3.6. After you clicked Tabs on top command, the address bar and the command bar will be positioned below the tabs.

About the start process, Firefox 4 Beta 2 takes 4 to 5 seconds to appear on my screen after I double clicked the icon. Google Chrome takes only 1 to 2 seconds to start. Well, I think Mozilla need to work more on this.

How to enable multiple tabs in Mozilla Firefox 3.6 web browser

Why we need to use multiple tab instead of just one Window in Mozilla Firefox? Tabs created to make browsing easier.

You can open up may web pages all in single Window. Its like reading a book with multiple chapters. The book is the browser you use and chapters are the tabs, where you can view different content in each tabs.

To enable multiple tabs in Mozilla Firefox 3.6, here's how to do it:

1. Click Tools -> Options -> Tabs (you will see it after General setting tab)

2. Click Always Show The Tab Bar button. This funtion will enable you too use tabbed browsing all the time in Firefox 3.6. When you click any link, it will be opened in a new tab instead of a new Windows. This trick saves your time and effort.

3. Click "Open new Windows in new tab". Use this funtion to open new Windows in a new tab. You dont have to start another Window of Mozilla Firefox.

4. I recommended you to click on all options to get the best tabbed browsing in Firefox.

If you want to close Firefox, please close all tabs manually one by one because closing them all at once via one click will delete all the data, including you Bookmark list. It happens to me once.

Do not open up multiple tabs more than 7 tabs, because opening more tabs will eats up your internet speed.

2 people who started Kaspersky antivirus and Kaspersky Lab

Kaspersky antivirus was known as AVP before officially turned into Kaspersky.

The name of the company that produce Kaspersky antivirus software was Kaspersky Lab, started by Eugene Kaspersky (the man in the image above) and his wife Natalya Kaspersky (on the left side in image above) back on 1997 (during my sweet teen years!). Reading the word 'lab' makes my mind imagining a serious scientist with white lab coat working on serious project.

Today, Kaspersky becomes a fast popular used antivirus software in Malaysia, beating up the popularity of AVG antivirus (free version) and Symantec's Norton antivirus. If you walk around shopping malls, you will see Kaspersky ads everywhere.

Apple iPad - the intro

Simple, confident, stunning. Each time I watched Steve Jobs videos, I noticed his self trademark - a glasses, long sleeved black turtle neck shirt paired with blue jeans, sport shoes on his foot. This is the way Steve Jobs dresses on many media occasions since I was a school teen.

I love his idea of combining iPhone with a laptop. Apple iPad was a phenomenal device our computing industry could ever produce.

This video features Stevie giving his first intro speech about iPad back on 27 January 2010. I asked an Apple dealer in Karamunsing, Kota Kinabalu if iPad can be availabe, sadly the answer in "not yet".

Steve called netbooks as "cheap laptops" in the video. I agree, at least netbooks still are affordable computers at another point of view.

Avira anti-virus is the new brand of antivirus here in Malaysia.

Years before, we used to heard about Symantec's Norton Antivirus, Kaspersky antivirus, PcCillin antivirus and not to forget the free version of AVG antivirus (most used antivirus software by Malaysian computer users).

Avira changed their slogan into 1Malaysia, 1Solution, 1Avira - Your Total Antivirus Protection. I love the new the slogan because it blends up Avira into the heart of most Malaysians.

I think a years from now, Avira antivirus becomes widely used antivirus software in Malaysia alone, surpassing Kaspersky antivirus who uses Jacky Chan and Dato' Lee Chong Wei as their product ambassador.

Avira sells two paid version of their antivirus software - Avira Antivir Premium (price range RM49 for 1 pc, Rm85 for 3 users, RM120 for 5 users) during PC Fair. The second commercial version is Avira Premium Security Suite, sold at RM75 for 1 user, RM 109 for 3 user, RM 155 for 155.

Kaspersky offers only a limit of 4 user for their antivirus suite. Until today, Kaspersky didnt produce their own free antivirus. You can try Kaspersky antivirus for 30 days only, for free.

Forgot Gmail or Yahoo Mail for a while. Lets get local.

If you live in Malaysia and want to have local taste of free email account offered in the local internet, look for Email.com.my. This site offers free email for Malaysians.

The sign up if free, all you have to do is filling up a process that I feel easier than registering new Gmail account. Email.com.my will not asks you to put a secret question.

The sign in form looks a little bit messy with Adsense advertisement all over it. I assume The webmaster was in need of some cash, desperately.

The login button is missing, I cant see the image of the 'sign in' button we need to click to go into the inboxl. My ranking, 1 out of 10.

Bad. I'm not happy with this site.

Google Malaysia - the blog

In a night I've stumbled upon an idea of finding Google Malaysia, either the office or just the official website of the office.

At that time, I was using Internet Explorer 7 to browse the internet. As you may know, the default search engine in Internet Explorer 7 was Bing and I'm not changing it since the first time IE7 was installed in my computer.

When the result came out, I was happy because I found a blog with the name of 'Google Malaysia'. A voice in my head says, this is the official blog for Google Malaysia office! I clicked on the link.

When the blog appear, I was unhappy, suddenly. It was unupdated blog made by a guy from Kelantan, Malaysia. I am wrong. I tought this was a blog from original Google Malaysia, but it was not.

ClearType technology created by Microsoft to enable a crystal clear view of any font on your screen. If you use Internet Explorer 7 or Internet Explorer 8 web browser, you will notice the font will be clearer, easier for you to read for long hours without hurting the eyes.

Main purpose of ClearType technology is to maximise text visibility. When activated, it will make the font highly visibile with 'popped out' look, a similay technology available in 3D view.

You can spot the difference between normal text and ClearType text in the image above. Tetxs showed with ClearType becomes easier to read, not mentioning how clear they are without pixellete problem (lack of pixels to show the text on screen).

I love Gmail because you can set Gmail into HTML view, which is a basic view of Gmail without any ads in it. Its purely basic, loads fast too. No Gooogle Buzz, colorful themes or skins, no new features. When my Broadband line is good, I switch it to full version.

Internet Explorer 6 - to disable IE 6 as the default browser

Usually, if you use Windows Xp, the system is bundled together with Internet Explorer 6. If you always use another browser to surf the internet, Internet Explorer will check either it is the deafult browser or not. This function was being enabled automatically as default setting within IE6.

There's nothing to be afraid of because it will effect anything.

In case you dont want to use Internet Explorer 6 as your default browser, you can click the box named with title 'Always perform this check when starting Internet Explorer'.

This is a deafult setting for all version of Internet Explorer, including the latest version, Internet Explorer 8. For me, I'm using Firefox 3.6 as my default web browser. while Google Chrome 6 as my second browser.

Look at the right top corner of your browser and you will see red Gmail icon with small numbers below it. The number presenting how many unread emails in your Gmail inbox. In the image, I've got 62 unread emails in my Gmail account.

When you click on Google Mail Checker icon, Google Chrome brings you right into your inbox (for the Gmail account name you've signed in before) without a need of signing in again and again. Like I said before, you can read your email in Gmail without typing your Google ID and password many times over.

However, this trick does not works for multiple sign in for any Gmail account. It can only serve one Gmail account at a time. I'm falling in love with it!

Google Gears are not compatible with Firefox 4 Beta 2

While surfing around the add-on setting of Firefox 4 beta 2, the browser told me that Google Gears extension was uncompatible with this version. I really surprised.

Anyway, this new version of Firefox still in testing phase. No words what the official version will be for the new Firefox 4. Google Gears is an extension used to speed up loading process of a particular website set by Firefox user.

How to delete icon on Desktop

You screen may full with icons, most of them are unused, or rarely being used as shortcut to programs installed in your computer. You want to delete them to minimize their number. But you dont know what is an icon and how to identify it.

Step 1: identify the icon.

To identofy an icon, they usuallt have a small arrow in the bottom left corner. This is a default setting for any icon on Windows powered computers.

Another way to identify an icon is to right click on the logo, then click to Properties, after that a dialog box will appear telling us what is the thing we are clicking on. The defaut setting will tell us it is a shortcut,a and in the Properties box, you will see a full link to the icon's target (a program's executable file).

Step 2: Quick delete the icon.

When you finally have identify is it an icon or another digital file stored on your Desktop, you can delete it in merely a second. TO do this, click on the icon. Then press SHIFT + Delete key on your keyboard. This is a keyboard shortcut for quick delete on any digital file (icons included)

The icon will be deleted directly without being thrown into Recycle Bin first just like normal deleting process. This trick allows you to delete icon faster than before in just 2 steps - select and delete using keyboard shortcut (shift + delete).

6 steps on how to sign up for a free Facebook account

You've heard your friends have their own Facebook.

A friend ask you what is your Facebook account and you still dont know, or in another situation, friends ask you this schematic question "do you have your Facebook account?

To register as a Facebook user, you need to sign up for an account. Its free and open for everyone at every age level, at any profession.

Here are the 6 steps on how to sign up for a free Facebook account:

Step 1: You must have an active email address. I personally recommended you to use Gmail, a free email from Google. Yahoo Mail is good but Yahoo will ads up your inbox with flash ads. Gmail loads faster and provides larger email storage with minimal ads. with Gmail, you can swith to HTML based Gmail account which has no ads at all (for free!).

Step 2: Go to Facebook homepage. Set your own unique name and password in mind before registering it. When done, fill in your personal info - your first name, your last name (for Malaysian, the first name is your name and the last name is your father's name), your email used to create this Facebook account, your password (make sure other people dont know your password) and you birthday. I have to admint you can fake all this info, just in case you needed privacy or for your own safety.

Step 3: Use your real name of your nick name known by your friends, family members or working colleagues. Choose wisely because your friends will find you based on the name you use in Facebook. If you use a name unknown to them, they cant find you and they will have a big difficulty finding you.

Step 4: Skip essential part during your registration process. Facebook may ask you to find your friends who use Facebook via your contact list derived from your email, upload a profile picture or filling up personal details. You can do this later. Our main priority is to get your Facebook validated.

Step 5: when done, Facebook will sent an activation link into your email account that you provide during the registration process. Please log in to your email, go to your inbox, find the email from Facebook. The title should be "Welcome to Facebook". At least, find a email message titled with Facebook name. Click on the activation link.

Step 6: When your new Facebook account has been validated, you can now add up some pictures, write some short info about yourself, searching for your friends' Facebook profile and add them as your friends. This is the fun part! The second fun begins when you are connected with them as friends and you can exchange messages with them via their wall, comments and images. To enable this, make sure your Facebook profile is connected with their's.

Step 7: Have fun! Look for new friends, Facebook will not limit how much a friends you can add in one day (but Friendster does!). Enjoy it! Its more fun that sms, Twitter or Friendster.

How to eject CD in a CD or DVD player in a computer without pressing eject button

To eject a cd from a cd/dvd player in your computer or in your laptop without pressing a single button, here's te steps on what you need to do.

Step 1: Double click My computer icon. It should opens fast. Another way is to click on Start button, click to My Computer link.

Step 2: When My Computer foledr appear, click on Drive D or the drive where the CD/DVd was being inserted. You should see a CD/DVD image as the icon for the drive. Click on the icon.

Step 3: when clicked, the icon will turned into blue, as a sign it is ready to receive and performs any command from you. Right click the icon. A command bar will appear containg various commands such as Play, copy, Paste, Create Shortcut, Eject.

Sep 4: Click once on the Eject command. Wait for the CD/DVD drive to open automatically after you clicked the on the 'Eject' command.

This trick works on all version of Windows computers including Windows 7, Vista and Windows XP.

Steward John hates Celcom Broadband

Celcom Broadband is the wireless broadband provider in Malaysia. Celcom is the first telecommunication company provides us with an offer to access internet via their usb modem.

I remember using Celcom Broadband to access internet connection back in 2009, at that time the connection was very slow. We are using GRPS internet connetion to read emails and latest new. Yahoo homepage takes full 30 seconds to reload!

Steward John, a blogger stated in his post how much he hates Celcom Broadband. Celcom already topped up his Broadband bandwidth from 386kbps to 512kbps, a free increase without any additional charge. But, the speed is still the same, he didnt see an increase in his broadband speed.

I think other users of Celcom Broadband have the same experience, derived from my reading on most personal blog in Malaysian blogosphere. During several weeks, Celcom Broadband coverage grows weak. Speed in opening up website becomes slow, YouTube videos gest slow, anything goes online becomes slow. The 'slow' problem still goes on until today.

I hope Celcom will do something about it. Their broadband charge rates goes down to the price of RM48 per month right now, RM20 cheaper from the original monthly charges at RM68 per month.

What about me? I'm using Digi Prepaid Broadband, the coverage still does best so far.

Motorola Android tablet laptop

Motorola will release their own tablet laptop in this year. If the plan goes successfully, then we can have a tablet laptop with Motorola logo such as in the image above, runs on Google Android operating system, affordable (maybe) for anyone to buy (new everyone can have a tablet laptop!) and free from virus threats.

Apple made a huge impact in computer market by producing cheap, fast and interactive tablet laptop, which I expect to be sold at $999 just like Unibody Macbook. Apple competitors are now doing the same way with a big hope to conquer a large market segment for tablet laptops.

Maybe the tablet laptop produced by Motorola will have its short name too, just like Razr, their thick mobile phone, or Shole, their smartphone with UI (user interface) similar to iPhone. will the name for the Motorola's tablet laptop will be ANDRO? Its only my prediction.

If Microsoft offers Mozilla Firefox 4 with Windows 7 installation cd in each sales, that will make Firefox 4 as the most popular web browser around the world. But that would never happen.

I have a dream. One day, Google will produce their own operating system, the Google Chrome OS and inserting Google Chrome web browser in it.

Seconds ago, TopNews.us reported Microsoft is now facing a huge problem of securiy breach, stated that all its operating system (includes Windows 7) can be hacked in kernell-level, which I understand as anyone outside your home can access your computer via the internet and changing its Windows registry system keys to get you into a big problem - the lost of important data in a mere second without any backup.

Microsoft saya they are working on its to fox the problem, which I premsume they will release security patches (a kind of updates for your Windows computer) soon enough to protect Windows user from around the world.

As reported by New York Times, Mark Papermaster, the senior president of iPhone 4 engineering quits from Apple. Speculation said that he quits because of iPhone antennae reception problem complained by buyers, and he didnt want to be called as the source of the problem.

My responses is, I think Mark Papermaster wants to try working for another company, maybe he wants better working environment that suits him much. But the timing of his leaving is not accurate, because iPhone 4 buyers will see him try to running away from iPhone 4 antennae problem.

As reported by 7Online news, a woman's house in Floyd County, Indiana was bulglarized by her own Facebook friends. Her security camera catches the image of the buglar and she posted it on her Facebook profile. Her Facebook friends helped her identify who is in the image. Finally, she fidns out the buglar was actually one of her friends in her Facebook's friends list.

I was surprised reading this news, never expect an online friend sneaked into my house and brings away my computer.
