Sony laptop-Sony Vaio VPCX11S1E/B review and specification

Sony Vaio VPCX11S1E/B is a netbook in Vaio X series. Sony Vaio VPCX11S1E/B laptop is not cheap laptop just like Acer Aspire One, Fujitsu netboook or Dell Inspiron Mini 10v in netbook class. Its an expensive netbook, thick, slim and durable.

Surprisingly, Sony didnt call Vaio X as netbook in their marketing campaign. But, Sony call it as a 'notebook'. I say call it as "a small notebook lack of optical drive".

Sony Vaio VPCX11S1E/B is a super slim netbook with 13.3mm thickness, installed with Intel Atom Z540 processor in 1.86GHz processor speed, 2GB RAM, 128GB SSD hard disc storage capacity, 11.1 inch screen size with 1366 x 768 pixels resoulution supporting 16:9 screen ratio using LED-backlit, weighted at 780 gram. Its outer body was made from carbon fibre, the same material used in most professional racing bike. Carbon fibre is a tough material but very light.

Sony Vaio VPCX11S1E/B has standard specification just like other netbook - Wifi, wireless driver for quick internet connection, HSDPA capability, Bluetooth, VGA socket, headphone socket for external speakers or small earphone.

Its battery only last for 4 hours. I didny believe it. I expect with the high price, this laptop can be used for 7-8 hours.

For my overall review, i didnt suggest Sony Vaio VPCX11S1E/B laptop so much for you because its so expensive. With the same money you budgeted on Sony Vaio VPCX11S1E/B, you can buy two units of Acer Aspire One laptops, two units of Asus Eee PC laptops, two Dell Inspiron Mini 10v laptops. Its hardware specification and overall capacity is the same with other laptop in netbook class out there.

As a laptop lover, i didnt very sure for what reason Sony put the price of this laptop so high. My idea is, Sony want to tell the world how much high quality their laptop was.

But, if you love Sony and you love Vaio laptop so much and you have enough money to but it, its up to you to buy Sony Vaio VPCX11S1E/B.

If you're average laptop user and want to buy another new laptop or you want to buy new laptop to replace your old laptop, look at your budget first. I didnt recommend Sony Vaio VPCX11S1E/B for small and average budgeted laptop buyer.

Hp laptop-HP Pavillion DV7-3063CL review

Hp uncovers new laptop, the Hp Pavillion dv7-3063cl, a multimedia laptop with two years warranty from Hp. Hp laptops comes with hard-to-spell code name but it doesnt matter anyway, as long as its cool new laptop.

From the image, i was fully stunned by its design. Hp Pavillion dv7-3063cl comes with a hip-hop design, urbanic style in dark grey. The screen uses backlit LED light with 16:9 screen ratio in 1600x900, full HD screen capacity for sharp image and true color display.

Hp Pavillion dv7-3063cl installed with Windows 7 home premium, uses AMD Turion II M250 processor chip with speed at 2.3 GHz, 4GB DDR2 RAM. The graphic handled by ATI Radeon HD 4200 graphic card, there is 500GB hard disc storage capacity for you to save a lot of data, 802.11n wireless driver for quick wireless internet connection via WiFi, dual layer DVD/CD optical drive to read and write data (burn).

From the specs above, i can say that Hp Pavillion dv7-3063cl is a middle level laptop, for general usage by university students, professional workers and for non-3D gaming.

I suggest this laptop is you want to use it to type documents, printing, usual office works, internet surfing, preparing assignments, internet social networking, music listening plus anyt other light digital entertainment. Hp Pavillion dv7-3063cl is a close replacement to Acer Aspire laptops or Acer Timeline laptops.

If you dont want to use Acer Aspire laptops simply because you want to use different brand of laptop, Hp Pavillion dv7-3063cl is a good alternative. Hp Pavillion dv7-3063cl battery is a 8-cells lithium battery useable up to 4 hours limit.

The price is in the middle range sold at $799.99 US Dollar about RM2,800 Malaysian Ringgit. If you expect Blu-ray optic drive in Hp Pavillion dv7-3063cl,actually no Blu ray installed in it. The size is little bit bulky, weight at 7 pounds, similar to many Acer laptops in notebook class.

Asus want to become 3rd largest laptop brand

Asus planned to become 3rd largest laptop brand. Acer is now ranked as no 2, Dell still the 1st biggest laptop brand in the world. In reality, many laptop user still considers Asus as a new laptop brand although Asus has become laptop maker for nearly a decade.

Asus laptops used widely by working IT professionals and business persons. Average laptop users (students, housewives, small businesses) didnt recognize Asus because of Asus's high price in selling laptops - Asus supports and laptop replacement parts rarely available in many Malaysian computer shops too. The Inspiron Mini 10v uses Intel Atom processor Z520 1.33Ghz, installed with 1GB DDR2 SDRAM, 160GB hard disc drive sized 2.5 inch wide, 3-cell lithium battery with 3 hours battery life,has 1 year limited warranty from Dell.

Dell Inspirion Mini 10v graphic powered by a graphic drive by Intel, the exact name is Intel Graphic Media Accelerator 500. This laptop is very handy, small sized and fun to use. Its screen is only 10.1 inch wide screen display with 1024x600 pixels resolution, supprt 16:9 screen ratio to enable sharp and clear screen image.

Dell Inspiron Mini 10v internet connectivity is available via 802.11g (1397) wireless built-in mini card along with its own Bluetooth driver, enable Mini 10v to be connected into Wifi coverage at anytime if available. You can also transfer any digital files via its Bluetooth driver - quick and easy digital file transfer for as images, videos, clips, audio sounds, YouTube videos and documents without cables. Starting price for Dell Inspirion Mini 10v is $299 US Dollar, about RM1,046.50 Malaysian Ringgit.

That's a lot cheaper if compared to Acer Aspire One laptop sold at RM1200 or HP Mini Pink sold at RM1299. During past years, Microsoft didnt open up any retail store while Apple Computers, the main rival to Micorosoft opened a bunch of Apple stores (apart from its online store) to sell Apple-only products. NEC tablet PC in prototype

NEC is working on their own tablet PC. NEC tablet PC will come with Wifi and 3G internet access, making it similar to internet device sold in Korea and Japan. Brand name, code name and launch date still unknown at this time of writing.

It has 3 functional buttons, a 8 inch touch screen, and unknown operating sytem. NEC still does not reveal full hardware specification. On thing for sure - they invented this prototype tablet PC mainly for business users.

I think when a tablet PC created for ordinary user, it will sold in million units. A tablet PC is handy, easy to use compared to laptops. Tablet PC is actually a laptop will full size screen using pointing device for user to replace mouse and on-screen keyboard to replace traditional QWERTY keyboard found in ordinary laptops and notebooks.

Laptop notebook-Windows 7 system requirement for laptops

If your laptop installed with Windows Xp or Windows Vista and you want to upgrade it to Windows 7, here's the system requirement:

• at least 1GHz processor (32-bit or 64-bit)
• at least 1GB of RAM (32-bit); 2GB of RAM (64-bit)
• at least 16GB of available disk space (32-bit); 20 GB of avaiable disk space (64-bit)
• DirectX 9.0 graphics driver

If your laptop runs on Windows Vista right now, you will not have a big problem upgrading your system into Windows 7.

But, if your laptop still installed with Windows XP make sure you add some more RAM, at least 1GB and 2GB RAm is the best option. Update your laptop Direct X version to 9.0. If your laptop does not has Direct X 9, download it from the internet and install it first into your laptop before upgrading to Windows 7.

DirectX makes video and games runs smoothly on sharp graphic. Windows Vista and Windows 7 system requirement has much similarity.

Asus laptop-Asus Eee PC 901 with multi touch screen

Asus Eee PC 901 is a netbook, small sized laptop. Recently Asus Eee PC 901 received new additional technology, a multi touch enabled display on the screen. The first version of Asus Eee PC was installed with Linux OS and has 10GB of hard disc storage capacity. It was the first netbook in the world, introduced to on January 2008.

Asus Eee PC 901 has 8.1 inch display size with glossy outer skin in white color. This is the second multitouch screen netbook model produced by Asus after Eee PC T91MT model.

Dell laptop-Dell Latitude XT2 XFR tablet pc with touch screen.

Apart from Dell Adamo XPS marketing campaign, Dell introduced another new laptop for laptop lover, the Dell Latitude XT2 XFR. Its screen similar with Lenovo ThinkPad - can be turned 360 degree, convertible into a tablet pc.

I'm not very sure if this laptop is the first convertible laptop from Dell. It was designed to meet war-grade standard, means it is a tough laptop suitable for outdoor activities in any rough environment. I think it is not very suitable for office workers because it is big, bulky, compared to slim office laptops such as Acer Timeline or Lenovo IdeaPad.

I suggest to use Dell Latitude XT2 XFR if you spend a lot of time outside office or outside your home. If you're a contractor, an army officer, seaman, a traveller who prefers tough electronic stuff, this laptop suits you.

About the hardware specification, Dell Latitude XT2 FXR has 38.1 body thickness, weighted at 2.4 kg with 4-cells battery - i think can only last up to 3 hours of continious usage. Its hard drive storage installed with a SSD (sold state drive) hard disc.

Dell Latitude XT2 FXR designed with a touch screen for easy multi tasking, quick viewing, uses Intel Core Duo 2 processor chip, 4GB of RAM (random access memory). It also comes with latest technology - installed with special cooling system make it possible to run in low temperature without any hassle.

Toshiba laptops - Toshiba Portege T110 and Toshiba Portege T130

Toshiba introduced their new laptop in Portege series, code named as Portege T110 for user who love to use their laptop while on the run. This laptop installed with Windows 7 as the operating system, equipped with GMA 4500M graphics card to enable sharp image and crytal scren dispaly view without any unwanted stuck disturbance.

Other than that, Toshiba introduced additional new laptop, the Portege T130 that has same hardware specification with the Portege T110. The outer skin is glossy, give us a smooth, classy look.

What is the difference between Portege T110 and Portege T130?. Tohiba Portege T110 is a netbook, lot smaller in size - 11.6 inch laptop screen using WXGA display.

Laptop skin - definition of a laptop skin

Laptop skin is a thick plastic cover created to protect outer layer of your laptop from easy scratch, especially the laptop front lid which contains the screen and the brand logo of your laptop. Some people call it as laptop sticker. Laptop skins can be removeable when you dont want to use them anymore without leaving any side effect such as dirty glue on the surface of your laptop lid.

Many available Lenovo laptop was installed with Windows Vista. To enjoy performance tools in Windows 7, they must upgrade to Windows 7 first, either in home premium version, business version or professional version.

Laptop computers - More Core i7 plus Windows 7 on laptops

More and more laptop computers will use i7, new processor made by Intel. It said to delivers better perofrmance and higher speed in laptops, enable user to enjoy better working experience and better entertainment on long battery life. Those specification will be added with arrival of Windows 7 operating system made by Microsoft said to be twice more stable than Windows Vista, faster than Windows XP.

Core i7 processor will beat Intel Pentium and Intel Celeron M processor that currently installed in many laptops produced within the year of 2008-2009. During year 2010, Acer, Compaq, HP, Gateway, Lenovo and Dell will turn onto i7 processor and Windows 7 while Google Android and Linux Ubuntu as optional operating system.

What benefit this wiil give to laptop user? They will get faster laptop, lighter laptop within cheaper price, maybe twice more cheaper than before.

Currently at this time, famous laptops mainly runs on Intel Core 2 Duo processor, Intel Centrino, AMD Athlon or Turion as the processor chip. However, this may change soon. Acer, however, still not yet produced laptops with Core i7 as main processor.

Dell laptops - Dell Adamo XPS processor and display specification

Dell Adamo XPS laptop uses processor chip from Intel - the Intel Intel dual-core ULV processor. A user can choose between 1.4Ghz to 1.9Ghz processor capacity. Dell still does not reveal the official OS (operating system) for Dell Adamo XPS.

About the display, Dell Adamo XPS installed with 13.3-inch screen display that uses WXGA LED backlit display supported by X4500MHD graphics driver, not LCD screen just we found in other usual laptops. Dell Adamo XPS laptop battery can only be used up to 4 hours within each charging session, compared to Acer Aspire Timeline 1810 netbook can be used for 7 hours to 8 hours on battery life.

What category Dell Adamo XPS is? It is a gaming netbook in my opinion, a powerful and super skinny, super light netbook with super performance. Dell does not revealed full hardware specification yet at this moment.

About the hard disc capacity, Dell Adamo XPS has 128GB or 180 SSD (solid state drive) and the RAM is 4GB, using DDR3. That was close competitor with Apple's laptop - Apple Macbook Air.

Acer laptops - Acer Timeline 1810 is a netbook

We usually saw Acer Timeline laptops as a full sized laptop. But Acer Timeline 1810 is different. It was a netbook - a notebook laptop in small size,only lack of optical drive to play/read DVD and CD.

Acer Timeline 1810 uses Windows 7 home premium 64-bit as its operating system and powered either by Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 or Intel Pentium SU4100, depends on the model. Each Timeline 1810 laptops has 1 year solid warranty from Acer. The RAM? 2GB DDR or 1GB DDR 2, depends on the model too.

Timeline 1810 comes with 6-cells battery enable the user to use it for 7 hours up to 8 hours with each single charging. This exceeds normal battery life usage we saw in earlier version of Acer laptops, where their battery can only last up to 3 hours only.

If you choose to own Acer laptop in budget price, small, light and easy to use, i suggest you to but Acer Timeline 1810 becuase it was designed for easy multitasking, especially for internet user who spends most of the time on reading internet websites and using web applications. To install software from CD or DVd, you to buy an USB external optic drive, if you prefer to install additional software. Or, copy the software into a flash drive then insert it into Aspire Timeline 1810 to install it.

Acer Timeline 1810 has 11. inch screen wide, with 16:9 screen ratio and meets standard capacity similar to other netbooks - webcam, QWERTY keyboard, card reader that can read various types of memory card (MMC/MS/MSPro/SD/xD), mouse touchpad, 2 way speaker.

Timeline 1810 has 320GB hard disc storage capacity, execeeds normal netbook storage which is around 256GB. Price starts with $500 US Dollar, around RM1500 in Malaysian Ringgit.

Acer laptops - Acer Timeline new series use Windows 7

Before the launch of Windows 7, the last versions of Acer Timeline was installed with Windows Vista, an operating system from Microsoft.

News report from AnandTech says that Acer installs Windows 7 operating system into its new line of laptops in Timeline series - namely Timeline 1810 (AS1810T), Timeline 3810 (AS3810T/As3810Z), Timeline 4810 (AS4810T) Timeline 5810 (AS5810TZ). With Windows 7, Acer laptops user has more battery life and faster performance than using Windows Vista. The letter "T" is code name for "Timeline".

Although using Windows XP will give same long battery life when using Windows 7, i suggest you to try Windows 7. Windows XP is too old for us to use.

One factor to be considered is, many 3rd prty softwares out there compatible most with Windows XP. I cannot guarantee if those software compatible enough with Windows 7 in Acer laptops. Maybe it will take 6 to 7 months for 3rd party software to be fully compatible with Windows 7.

What is 3rd party software anyway? It was a software contained in CD or DVD, produced by another manufacturer other than Microsoft. Example for 3rd prty software are games CD, utitlities software, language software, antivirus software, design software, office software, productivity software.

Flash drive - Transformers flash drive that can transform into a toy Jaguar

This flash drive is really interesting because it can be transformed into a Jaguar shaped toy as a personal decoration on your work desk. Sadly the usb flash drive doesnt has tyres for you to play with it. Its engine door is the cover for this flash drive. Pull out the engine cover and you will see USB dogle head inside juts like any other flash drives. Then, you can plug the flash drive into your laptop. Hey, if you love cars and you love Porshe especially the new Panamera, this USB flash drive suits you!

Its kinda interesting when you put it in you laptop. Anyone will notice its different shape. They will ask you and maybe they will want to to buy one for themselves. From the image, i can say this flash drive also being used as wireless car remote key to open doors and to lock doors.

Apple Macbook laptop - cheap $999 Apple Macbook laptop

Wow! You can get cheap Apple Macbook laptop at $999 US Dollar only, about RM3500 Malaysian Ringgit. Usually, Apple Macbook laptops are expensive and not so many laptop users can own a Macbook except they have a big budget to buy it and they hate computer virus attacks in Windows powered laptops.

With $999, you can buy two Dell netbook or one high performance laptop installed with Windows - if you prefer it to be that way. But, if you want to use Apple Macbook and you always dream of owning one, i suggest you to grab this offer while it still open at the time of this writing.

As reported by Cnet, this $999 Apple Macbook has light polycarbonate outer skin, 13 inch glossy screen wide using 1280-by-800 resolution and LED backlight technology. Abut the processor chip, it uses 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor (for the first time!), comes with 2GB RAM and 250GB hard disc storage capacity.

Not bad. If you love Apple Macbook and you want to buy one for yourself via the internet, this is the right time.

Asus laptops - ASUS UL series with 8GB RAM and 12 hours battery life

Asus has produced new laptops, they called UL laptops series in smurky grey color - they are are UL20A, UL30A, UL50Vt and UL80Vt. The brand name for this laptop series will start with UL word infront of it.

UL is short word for "unlimited" - what Asus claims to be "UnLimited". News report from DigiHub said UL laptop in this series has 12 hours battery life and comes with 8GB amout of RAM making it good choice of high performance laptop suits for heavy gaming, creative digital design jobs and for heavy multimedia entertainment. My guess is, UL laptop series was aimed for tech professionals.

A report from Alibaba.com said that Dell is preparing 80 units of new Inspirion Mini 10 laptops to be installed with new operating system (OS) from Windows, the Windows 7. I was very delighted when reading this news because i know using Dell with windows 7 in it will produce better experience, especially in cheaper selling price.

From what i read around the internet, most laptop users who have tried Windows 7 commenting Windows 7 as the best OS after Vista and it is fast too even used in netbook, a small laptop without optical drive to run DVD or CDs. Video below will give you a review about Dell Mini 10.

Apple Magic Mouse is the latest wireless pointing device from Apple Computers. Its outer look is good, in Apple's usual white color with sleek and 'sexy' design.

Long that i knew Apple's design is always sleek, provide comfort, fully ergonomic and engaging - produced for geeks with high appetite of art. TechRadar called Apple's Magic Mouse as Apple magic weapon, in my opinion as a weapon in winning computer wars with Microsoft and other famous vendor.

HP Compaq will produce more cheap netbooks

HP Compaq will use cheap pricing strategy to make their netbook become widely popular among computer users, said Steven Hoffman, director of worldwide marketing, Personal Systems Group HP. Hp and Compaq will produce many cheap laptop in the forth coming months wchich meets recent technology standard. For example, recently Compaq has released their new 15.6 inch HD netbook called Compaq Presario CQ61z sold at only $399, almost same price with Fujitsu's netbook.

Compaq Presario CQ61z has 250GB hard disc storage capacity exceeds the usual standard for most netbook HDD that is usually at 160GB storage capacity, used in wide variety of netbooks such as Aspire One. I think Acer will come up with their 15 inch netbook too, maybe Sony, Asus and Fujitsu follows the same strategy to win more user - we will se more netbook becomes cheap in price, best in storage capacity and technology advancement.
