Google Gmail - how to recover old Gmail email account

Today is was trying to enter several my old Google Gmail account. I wrote those account's log in name, password and recovery email in a note book, just in case I forgot. I opened those old email in year 2008.

It was two years ago. Suddenly when I tried to enter into one of my old Gmail account, I cant log in. The password is correct. Gmail ask me to fill in CAPTCHA-like letters on the screen.

I typed the letters correctly but my old Gmail account refuse to let me in to the inbox. I wonder what happened to my old Gmail?

Nothing important in those account but looks like this is how Gmail treat SPAM-like inactive email accounts. Gmail will ask you to fill in weird letters to prove you are human.

Yahoo Mail automatically freeze down inactive email address each the owner fail to sign in more than 3 months. I knew because Yahoo Mail tells that during re-sign in process.

Internet scams - 1 million British Pound in Western Union for me?

When opening up my Gmail this evening I was shocked because I received a sum of money of £1,000,000.00 British Pound from Western Union, awaiting to be transferred into my account. As usual, I was highly skeptical, its a internet scam. How could such a big money like landed easily on my door? I have posted the screen shot in the image within this post (click for larger view). I remind you please be aware of any internet scams via email like this, they will give you free money in large sum for an exchange of your personal financial information (you bank account, personal password to verify it is truly your bank account) because they say wanna send you the money, that is their reason. The receiver (me) is not mentioned in the receiver email address, means spammers are using customized software to send similar email to million of internet user all over the world.

The seller for this product says in the sales page (screen shot in the image, please click for larger view) the after you buy, the activation code will be sent via email, no shipping fee charged in product price which for me is cool. The good news is, this Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 availabe in 29999 units, I assume maybe the seller copied a lot its original CD, the same product also sold for RM20 buy another seller. Did Kaspersky Malaysia know about it? No, I think not.

Someone tells you that you won 1,000,000 British Pound in Yahoo/MSN lottery (that will be RM4,886,038.64 Malaysian Ringgit). After reading that suddenly you realized how lucky you are all this time!. Be aware, that is an internet fraud, please be careful when you received an email like this. Luckily, my Gmail account detects this internet fraud email and give me warning, you can see that warning colored in red with white lattering (click for larger view). After reading the email for a while, I come to a conclusion that this fake lucky winner email is intended to steal your online personal information such as you real name, age, address, your job, country and phone number. SO be careful, dont post all of that on Facebook or your Google Profile.

Tumblr blog will influence the way people do blogging in Malaysia

While Wordpress is highy search engine friendly and used by most professional blogger, I see Tumblr is emerging to match Wordpress and Google Blogger in term of user comfortablility, useful tools and customization. Three of them are highly customize and easy to use, Tumblr is not widely used in Malaysia yet compared to Blogger and Wordpress (include Wordpress.com) , but I think Tumblr will change all that because non-techinical bloggers tend to use photos and videos in their post, which is were Tumblr strength lies, so more and more people will love Tumblr more than they love Google Blogger. Air Asia website new feel and look

I open up AirAsia website, one thing I noticed at first is how beautiful the design is, the new Air Asia website will automatically detects your location and gives you the preferred language used in your location either you are in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore or Australia, in the previous Air Asia website prompts you where you are located now by selecting physical location via country's button and you have to select your preferred language manually. I love the feel of seeing this new Air Asia website. New AVG anti virus 10 free edition is crazy

AVG anti virus 10 is going 'crazy' in my computer, usually AVG will display all its complete components such as Link SCanner, Anti Spyware and the Anti Virus, but when I Stareted my computer this morning weird things happened, AVG anti virus shows it 3 components only in the System Overview as you can see in the image (click to enlarge), the UPdate Manager, the License and the Identity Protection, I dont know whay this happened because I dont change any setting in AVG 10 free edition anti virus, Gonna find out soon, or change it to another free edition anti virus. I cant update my AVG, it says "General error", I think I need to re-install AVG anti virus right after this. Kaspersky anti virus trial version seems like a good choice.

My MyBlogLog is active but unactive

Its been two months (maybe more) since the last time I logged into my MyBlogLog, the previous owner of this blog you're reading now is actually a close friend of mine, she gave me this blog because she was far too busy to maintain steady post, after taking the responsibility I've made several changes especially on the site design (the looks becomes less, more minimalistic) and the MyBlogLog community, I change it to my personal name so you can get close to me more than before. I personally believe a blogger is a close informer to the person who read the blog (that's you!) that I why I treat this blog as my personal way to get close to you. Friendster Malaysia is decreasing in number of active users

How is Friendster Malaysia is doing now? Never heard about their latest activity recently. Some of my friens including me are seldomly logged into our Friendster account. During our old days on year 2008, we logged into Friendster 1 hour a day just for fun, but now spent 3-4 hours a day only on Facebook because Facebook gives moire fun!. I admit Friendster is not so good compared to Facebook, to maintain their business, Friendster is eyeing their focus on South East Asia users from Malaysia, Philippine, Thailand, Indonesia. Friendster's user home page receives new design, an adaptation from Twitter (by asking Tell your friends what are you doing right now) dan Facebok. The search term 'Friendster' is decreasing in Google Malaysia local search trends since October 2009, many Adwords advertiser showing no interest of bidding their keywords related to Friendster. What a pity.

iPad rival - new Hp Slate 500

Hp released their new tablet pc (also called tablet laptop in Malaysia) which I think is to rival Apple iPad, aimed for Windows computer users. The new tablet laptop named as Hp Slate 500, installed with Windows 7 operatig system, sold at $700 about Rm2800 in Malaysian Ringgit. Hp Slate 500 has 8.9 inch screen, multi-touc enabled, it has digital stylus pen (which iPad did not has), 64GB internal storage, front and back digital camera, powered by Intel Atom processor, video conference enabled, one USB port,. WiFi connectivity, but I'm not sure if Hp Slate 500 has 3G capability as seen in iPad. 7 million units of Apple iPad has been sold since its launch on April 2010. Can this new tablet laptop, Samsung Galaxy Tab, KT Identity Tab or CSL Droidpad reach that number?

I hate being used as a joke

I feel a little bit uneasy today, maybe because of busyness at work. I wanna become full time blogger so I can spent my whole day looking for new web apps, reading latest stuff on the internet. Geeks - my definition of a geek

A geek is someone who love to spend more time with intellectual stuff - books, computers, they dont socialize much, geeks love to be alone all the time and speaks only with people who have the same interest with them. I am a geek naturally, my father always bought me books and magazines to reach each month, I also read magazines he read such as Dewan Masyarakat, he bought me Malay three or four Malay novels by the end of each month, which I learned about beauty of life. My love for computer develops ine year 1997, while I was taking my SPM exam, then went to college, working, then pursuing my ICT bachelor degree. I love to create things, innovation and technology.

To earn a government job position like mine, you got to have your own information technology degreee, studying with open University Malaysia is very convenient because you will learn by yourself via online, they provide the book and the lecturers during tutorial session. New mozilla Firefox - how to install Firefox 3.6.11

The new Mozilla Firefox while I'm writing this is Firefox 3.6.11, to install this new Firefox without uninstalling your current version of Firefox that already being installed in your computer, look at the Menu bar at commands such as File, Edit, View and Help, click "Help", then click "Check for updates", Firefox will check if there is current version availabe, when found, Firefox informs you and start downloading you after you click "Update now" button. New update file size is 2.6MB, takes 4 minutes to download, 4 seconds to install. After the download finished, restart your Firefox so the new updates can be installed and works well. Make sure current version of your Firefox is 3.6.10 because this new update will not working on Firefox 4 onwards (the Beta versions)

Computer anti virus - AVG 10 2011 installation is slow because it needs internet connection

I've been installing new anti virus for my computer, the AVG 10 2011, year 2010 is still two months to go yet more anti virus vendors are releasing new anti virus for year 2011. The new AVG 10 anti virus is light, load up quickly. Even though the installation file is only 4.5MB, but during the installation process AVG anti virus will ask you to put the internet connection on, why? Because AVG installer file need to download additional installation files from the internet, so it makes installation process takes 35 to 45 minutes to finish up in my computer. AVG says in the website installation process for this new anti virus version will be fast, but in my experience of installing AVG anti virus last two days, installation is slow, updating its virus database may take additional 20-30 minutes.

I dont know what happened and the other Project Petaling Street users were left with no question answered on the question of "how to make it alive again". Google Chrome 8 starts faster than Firefox 4

My default web browser right now is Google Chrome 8. I've been using Firedox 4 Beta as my defaut web browser but I removed it because the performance result is so frustrating. Firefox slows to start and slow to shpw up some website compared to Google Chrome 8, and this 4th version (Beta version) does not fully compatible with several add-ons that i've installed and frquently use, so i decided to turn back into most stable version of Firefox, the 3.6.10 so I can use add-ons that I want to.
