Hp fights hard to get attention among tablet laptop users. Recently, Hp reduced the price of Hp Touchpad, their new tablet laptop to $399 US Dollar which equals to RM1,197 in Malaysian Ringgit. Price reduction of Hp TouchPad only occures in United States Of Americe, not yet in Malaysia, maybe Malaysian will receive the same price reduction too because Hp TouchPad has fierce competition from tablet rivals - the new Apple iPad 2, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and the popular HTC Flyer, which availabe via monthly installment from Maxis Internet promotion.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4G

Rumours is up now. iPhone 4 will be upgraded into iPhone 5. Recently, internet users seems to battle among themselves about the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 4G, which the device is the most widely used tablet laptop in Malaysian mobile market especially among professional workers. The recent version of Samsung Galaxy Tab uses Android 3.0 that powers up 3G internet connection. When the 4G version will comes out, still not be told and still a mystery. Samsung will update their Android 3.0 into Android 3.2, but the blue Sammy still does not tell us when officially the long-awaited-update will show itself to the loyal users.

Tablet PCs - LG Optimus Pad The First 3D Content Generator Tablet

LG introduced their new tablet laptop with new technology LG Optimus Pad - the 3D recording content generator tablet, which makes life becomes good!. This sweet Android tablet can record videos and capture real life images then saving it in 3D format, the feature unavailable in other tablet laptop also in iPad 2 either. LG Optimus Pad is the first 3D content table laptop in the world. Its is also the first 8.9-inch tablet laptop sold in Malaysia at RM2,199.

LG Optimus Pad runs on Nvidia 1Ghz Tegra 2 dual core processor chip and features an 8.9-inch WXGA display with a 1280×768 screen resolution,it has dual-array 5MP rear-facing camera placed about 1.5-inches apart of each other for 3D video recording and photos. The dual-5MP camera is capable of shooting 1080p 2D or 720p 3D videos.

Celcom is offering LG Optimus Pad at RM1,668 (but you need to sign up for a data contract with Celcom) via two different broadband packages. Details about those packages were as follows:

1.Celcom Broadband Basic offers 4GB of data a month for RM68/month (12 month contract).
2.Celcom Broadband Advance with 6GB of data a month for RM98/month (12 month contract).

These two packages kinda helpful. Instead of buying LG Optimus Pad at price of RM2,199 you can now buy it as low as RM1,668 (you save more than RM400!). Just be a Celcom Broadband customer and you can get LG Optimus Pad in lower price compared to usual offer in local computer shops.

Motorola Xoom With New Android 3.2

The new Andoroid 3.2 will come out soon with several new features. The first tablet laptop that will be installed with this new operating system is Motorola Xoom. Andoroid 3.2 is the latest update of the recent version, Android 3.0 which also code named as Honeycomb. Dont know why Google called Android code with that kind of name, but it is catchy to spell, easy to remember. Motorola Xoom will be the first tablet to get this update, while the other tablet laptops from other brands will get it later. The existing users can get Android 3.2 via automatic update feature installed in their tablet laptop or go to the nearest computer shop to install Android 3.2 into their device.

iPad rival - new Hp Slate 500

Hp released their new tablet pc (also called tablet laptop in Malaysia) which I think is to rival Apple iPad, aimed for Windows computer users. The new tablet laptop named as Hp Slate 500, installed with Windows 7 operatig system, sold at $700 about Rm2800 in Malaysian Ringgit. Hp Slate 500 has 8.9 inch screen, multi-touc enabled, it has digital stylus pen (which iPad did not has), 64GB internal storage, front and back digital camera, powered by Intel Atom processor, video conference enabled, one USB port,. WiFi connectivity, but I'm not sure if Hp Slate 500 has 3G capability as seen in iPad. 7 million units of Apple iPad has been sold since its launch on April 2010. Can this new tablet laptop, Samsung Galaxy Tab, KT Identity Tab or CSL Droidpad reach that number?

Samsung Galaxy Tab price is between at $200-$300. No official price yet from Samsung or its authorised agent.

iPad rival - Samsung Galaxy YouTube [VIDEO]

Samsung Galaxy is the new upcoming tablet laptop, I predict it to be the gratest rival to iPad.

Samsung Galaxy's prices still stay hidden. Samsung works hard to promotes Galaxy tablet laptop by uploading its 30 seconds official teaser video on YouTube.



Cnet TV has done a review of Samsung Galaxy, which also available as the related video on its playlist.

Samsung Galaxy installed with Android OS (operating system) code named Froyo 2.2, which is an open source software made by Google while the iPad was installed with iOS 3.2 operating system made 100% by Apple.

The video shows several similarities between Samsung Galaxy and the iPad, but I think Galaxy's price will be higher than iPad.

I really hope Samsung Galaxy will be a Flash enabled device, so any YouTube visitor can enjoy their favorite videos and any blogger can publish any post anywhere using any modern browser other than Safari 5.

Toshiba laptops - Toshiba Libretto W100 with dual screen, virtual keyboard technology

The new Toshiba Libretto W100 laptop has an internal sensitive sensor which detects screen movements, either you placed it horizontall or vertically. If you placed the laptop horizontally, for example, the sensor will detects it and adjusts the screen automatically without any need to adjust it manually. That is the same technology availabe in iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4, where iPhone screen will adjust automatically to the phone's position.

The dual screen allows you to use Libretto W100 for multiple purpose all at once with its virtual on-screen keyboard technology, as seen in Apple iPad. You can watch YouTube video clips while updating your Facebook status, or even reading blogs. The screen is multi-touch sensitive.

iHome designed a docking port for Apple iPad tablet laptop (as the charging station, an alarm clock, a digital clock) that has Bluetooth connectivity comaptible with another Apple's devices such as iPhone, iPod. The device connects into your iPad via Bluetooth, means no wires needed.

You can set your iPad as an alarm clock using iHome+Sleep application built within the dock. You can also set customized alarms for alerts from your chosen social site, for weather changes and for latest news, when there is new things available right from your iPad tablet laptop. You will get sound alerts when your friends posted new Facebook wall messages, for example.

Intel focusing inside tablet laptops

Intel, the most famous processor chip manufacturer on the planet is now focusing on tablet laptops, maybe to get ahead from its closest competitor, AMD. After Apple iPad released to public, tablet laptops becomes hugely popular because of its sensitive touch screen, colorful display screen with minimal no need of a keyboard.

Intel sees that the demand for tablet laptop will increase in the future, thus enable Intel to gain more profit from there by selling new kind of processor designed espeacially for tablet laptops. Acer new tablet laptops

Acer willintroduce two new tablet laptops before the end of 2010, not a convertible netbook laptop as seen in the image below.


Those two new tablet laptops are sized at 7 inch and 10 inch display each respectively, installed with multimedia features, internet connectivity, with sensitive touch screen as seen in Apple iPad and Dell Streak.

Acer uses Google Android OS (operating system) to power up those two tablet laptops, hence reduces the price to lower level, cheaper than usual tablet laptops. Actually, I love Acer more than Dell, but in the same time I was crazy for iPad!

Velocity Cruz tablet laptop priced $300 only

You will never believe it. A computer maker named Velocity Cruz manufactured a tablet laptop and set price its at $300 only (equal to 900 Malaysian Ringgit). This is truly crazy! Velocity Cruz tablet laptop uses Google Android as its operating system and has same functions availabe in normal tablet laptops - USB ports, 16:9 display screen ration, WiFi signal detector, sensitive touch screen.

Honestly, I didnt know Gigabyte has also produce a tablet laptop.
