iPad rival - Blackberry Playbook a tablet PC from RIM

RIM is the maker of the famous Blackberry smartphones used by professional workers, rich people, wealthy girls, successful individuals.

RIM released their new tablet laptop, named with Blackberry Playbook in a press conference in San Francisco. Blackberry Playbook introduced to the audience by Mike Lazaridis, the co-CEO of RIM.

Blackberry Playbook is the latest iPad rival besides Samsung Galaxy tab. However, the Playbook will available in Malaysia in the middle of 2011, maybe close to December 2011.

CSL, Malaysian mobile phone maker released new tablet laptop which outer design and looks similar to the iPad. The name of the device was Spice Mi700 DroidPad, installed with Google Android 2.2 Froyo, a free open source mobile phone operating system made by Google.

Spice Mi700 DroidPad designed for mobile internet surfing, Facebooking, instant messaging while maintaining its normail function as an mobile phone. Muslims will gain huge benefit with Spice Mi700 DroidPad because it is installed with several islamic apps such as digital azan, Qiblat compass pointer. You can install digital Quran as optional feature in this tablet laptop.

What I like about CSL Spice Mi700 DroidPad is, it has office features - you can type word documents, preparing presentations, making a power point presentation, copying anfd editing PDF files. For me as a blogger and a tech office, i was highly delighted.

Mactini and Mactini Nano

Mactini, as the presenter in the video said its name, is the smallest MacBook in the world. Mactini Nano is the 'nano' version of Mactini.

It has only one keyboard, with the multimedia funtions availabe in just like normal MacBook laptop (movie, playing song, business presentation). The video tells you more.

My Yahoo Mail takes only 3 seconds to load up because I opened my Yahoo Mail via Google Chrome 6 installed with AdBlock extension. AdBlock prevents any advertisement to be displayed so it saves your time to watch the content.

I fully recommended you to install AdBlock plus.

This extension has its Firefox version Firefox too, but AdBlock works best with Google Chrome web browser. The Firefox version does not work all the time.

The look become less

As you can see, I've tweaked several section of this blog.

I want to be different. I love simplicity. Google and Apple taught me to become 'less is more'.

Being single (and a virgin!) makes me adapt the 'less is more' philosphy into my real life. I ride a small automated scooter to my office, I eat simple menu on each breakfast, lunch and dinner time. I have a few personal things in my room.

If you come to my house, it was filled with books, tech magazines (CHIP and Majalah PC), unwashed bra, my deskop pc, software CDs, computer parts, wires, cables and optical mouses.

Back to work after Raya

Phew!

I was just back to Kota Kinabalu, spending few days at 'kampung'. Most of my Raya holidays were spent there.

I have a good celebrating Raya with my brothers and sisters, together cousins. I saw several of them grow up to beautiful young ladies and handsome lads. I became older!

The Aidilfitri falls onto Friday. I need to get back to Kota Kinabalu at the next monday to attend my work schedule. Gosh, I was so busy for the last 7 days! My office mates still in their holidays. I have to cover up all things, including several friend's work.

I wanna do blogging for full time, not stuck in an office. I really enjoy tech blogging because it allows me to learn new things. I wish Majalah PC's Editor contacted me, invites me to become one of their writers.

End of ramadhan is near

End of Ramadhan is near.

Today is Saturday, the 25th day of Ramadhan, 5 more days to celebrate Eidulfitri. I spent half of my day compeleting job tasks in the office, I left several of them for Monday later so I have some unfinished work to keep me busy.

At 1PM, I went out to Kota Kinabalu city. The crowd there was huge especially in famous shopping Malls - Centre Point, Wawasan Plaza and Wisma Merdeka. Traffic jams are everywhere around the town! Eid songs are everywhere too.

Rain comes down in evening, for half an hour. I was being thankful, because the rains makes my evening cooler!

The sun comes out like usual . I spent couple of minutes at the water front near Hyatt International Hotel just to enjoy the sunset view. It was beautiful.

Google interactively celebrates 25th anniversary of Buckyball

Google made an interactive Buckyball on Google.com homepage on 3 September 2010.

This design called as Google Doodle, where Google made special logo displayed on the front page. Each time you open up Google.com today and for several days after this, Buckyball appears.

Below is the image at time time you open up Google.com, before other links appear, the Buckyball comes out as the small Yellow dot, spinning around on Google logo.

5 steps how to sync your Myspace account with your Facebook account

You have Myspace account? Now you can sync your Myspace account with your Facebook account, for free.

Each and every time you type any personal message in your MySpace, your message will also appears in your Facebook account, located on your FB's profile page.

No need to log-in to your Facebook just to post the same message again. This process can be done automatically via several clicks. Your two different social account shares one single message from you, updated from Myspace.

Here's the 5 steps how to sync your Myspace with your Facebook account

1. Log in to your Myspace account, click to My Account link (visible besides Help and Sign Out link).

2. After your account info displayed, look for 'Sync' link. It should be the last link, right at the right side of 'No More CAPTCHAs'. Click on the 'Sync' link to start enabling sync between your Myspace account and your Facebook account.

3. The Sync to another service box will appear. You will see Twitter and Facebook link here. Click on the 'Get Synced' link. It turns red when you hover up your mouse pointer on it. Myspace will ask you for conformation later.

4. Facebook permission page will appear.

Here, Facebook asks your permisson to sync your MySpace data (images, profile info, update status) with your Facebook data in your Facebook profile.

Every time you update your Myspace status, the message will appears on your Facebook account automatically without a need to log-in into your Facebook account. Your Facebook friends will see your Myspace messages (texts, links, pictures, videos) right after you've done updating them from Myspace.

5. Click the 'Allow' button to enable sync process to start between your Myspace and your Facebook. The sync process may take a while, depends on your internet speed.

The disadvantage is, each time you update your status in Facebook, your status messages will not appear in your Myspace account.

Your MySpace friends can rad any messages you have posted from Facebook. But, if you updates your status in Myspace, the same message will also appear in your Facebook account right after that, automatically.

The same trick works for your Twitter account.

Click the 'Sync' button, wait for the conformation box, click on the Allow button, then you can post any message from your Myspace account just to republish the same message in your Facebook and in your Twitter account.

Facebook is testing new feature, the 'Subscribe To' link option below profile picture of the Facebook user. I get this 'subscribe to' while browsing in the wild, it is not officially released yet at the time I posted this for you,

You can subscribe to the person's News Feed, Pages or I think maybe Notes, Pictures and Wall Messages, if there is any new content availabe in his/her Facebook account. Usually, the notification icon alerts you each time your friends react back or simply giving some feedback.

The "Subscribe To" options is quite similar with "Follow" option in Twitter, where the "Follow" options enables you to read the latest messages, rumblings and emotional tweetings from any person you've followed.

Apple iPad iOS 4.2

iOS is the operating system for iPad, a friendly, beautiful tablet computer manufactured by Apple.

Steve Jobs announced Apple will release a new update of iOS to the latest version, the iOS 4.2.

The current version installed in iPad was iOS 3.2, other folks called it iPhone iOS 3.2, because iOS also used as operating system for the iPhone and the iPod Touch. iOS 4.2 scheduled to be released for public at November 2010.

Hopefully I can buy my own iPad after iOS 4.2 was out.

For me this is a positive proof that iPad is really making a big difference in our life as computer user. Eventhough iPad lacks Flash player, this tablet laptop enables us to hold the million useful content of the internet in our hands.

You can scroll the page up down, left to right just by using your small fingertip. No physical pointing device needed, no wireless mouse, no touchpad.

By default, Google News are being set to bring you to Google.com/news or news.google.com

That setting are for US residents, not for Malaysian residents. If you are looking for Google News Malaysia because you want to read latest news from Malaysia, here's the steps how to do it.

1. Via a click.

If Google Malaysia is your homepage, click on 'News' link (colored in blue) available on top left of your internet browser.

2. You will be directed automatically to Google.com.my, if you are in Malaysia.

Luckily, if you accessing your internet collection from any location within Malaysia or you are using Malaysian-registered internet provider (such as TmNet Streamyx for home and cyber cafe), Celcom Broadband or Digi Broadband) to surf the internet, Google News will redirect you to Google News Malaysia edition, located at news.google.com.my. The process will be done automatically within 1-3 seconds.

Notice 'dot my' domain name, that is the only factor differentiates Googole News U.S. edition between Google News Malaysia edition. Firefox will remembers Google.com as your homepage. Each time you open up Firefox net time, the browser will open Google.com for you, not Google.com.my (Google Malaysia).

Turning into Google.com as your personal search homepage enable you to see new features that Google Malaysia still does not receive yet. Any site will 'see' you as non-Malaysian visitor.

This seetting is permanent, unless you change it.

Personal desktop computers - 3 steps how to clean up your desktop computer in safe way

Desktop computer consists of these parts, they are:

1. The central processing unit (called as CPU for short)

2. Monitor, a display device, either flat screen monitor or the traditional VGA monitor.

3. Input device - keyboard and mouse.

Here's 3 steps how to do it.

Step 1: Always use blower to throw away dust.

Always clean up your internal part in the CPU every week, at least once in every 7 days. The CPU unit collects dust, it prevents from flowing out smoothly, making CPU unit becomes hotter.

The hot environment in the CPU unit damages the processor due to uncontrolled, collected heat. Be warned about this because it will cost you huge sum of money for replacement part. Using brushes to clear away dust is good, but the best trick is to use vacuum blower because the strong wind from the blower wipe up dust entirely. Just do not put the blower too close with the internal part in the CPU, especially the motherboard.

Step 2: Avoid to use wet towel.

Do not use wet towel to clean up your flat screen monitor. Most flat display device uses LCD. If you always clean up the monitor using wet towels, the wetness from the towel will goes deep into it, damages the screen. The effect will be unwanted line on screen or several black 'dots', a sign of dead crystal display.

Step 3: Cleans up each components individually.

Learn how to pull out CPU part individually. They are easier to clean outside the CPU unit.

Pull out the cables and put each parts (the hard disc, processor fan, processor heat sink, the power supply, motherboard, RAM stick) on different spot on your table or on the floor. Spent time to clean each part one by one. You can do high quality cleaning of these parts, do it alone or with someone.

Do not use wet towel to clean up those part. Uses a soft tissue, a blower or small paint brush to clear away dust.

If you stay around Putrajaya, Malaysia, you can order your own Kad Raya Aidilfitri online from Green Fas Enterprise. Their service consists of a free deliverytoo just for customer around Putrajaya and places within 30km from their outlet.

From their blog, you can see 3 beautiful designs for their Kad Raya Aidilfitri. The designs is good, creative, stunning, designed with Malay 'feel' in it. However, you need to order your Kad Raya early. At the time I wrote this, today is 21 Ramadhan 1413 Hijriah, equals to 1 September 2010.

My friends and I saw a better, more beautiful design than this company offer, so I wonder, what factors that differentiates this company from Kad Raya seller around the town?

My opinion, it would be easier for the site visitor and Kad Raya buyers if they display each design in each blog post, so the visitor and the buyer does not have to open up slow Flickr page just to see the designs.

The blog has minimal articles and posts but has many advertisements especially in their main blog addressed at "KadRaya.net". This site need a lot, lot, lot of improvement.

People need information on Kad Raya Aidilfitri,who made it, meaning of the design on the Kad Raya and how to get it those cards within shortest time possible. The company, however, dont put this kind of info. Pity.

The company also opens up another Blogspot blog just for putting in an order form.

Sadly, when I clicked on the link named "Hubungi Kami" (contact us in English) the link brought me to Gmail's sign in page. The company wants to to contact them just by using Gmail, not other contact option.

I thought the link would brought me to a real time contact form. Looks like this company does not has real experience of doing business online.

Proof? No handphone number to display, no name of any staff for you to talk with by a phone call, no pictures of the real "Green Fas Enterprise" (I mean images of their sales premise) their real address is not displayed, their real boss picture are not availabe on the site, their real Google Maps location was not displayed too.

I really have a big doubt doing business with this company simply because I saw many holes of mistakes that tears down my trust on them as a first time visitor.

In Malaysia, buying stuffs online still becomes a big issue, especially on trust.

Could you trust this company?

No handphone number to be contacted, just an email for you to send to them (and an account number for you to insert payment to them!).

You can still order your Kad Raya Aidilfitri, but make sure you emailed them always, just in case they dont contact you back after you sent them your money to buy "Kad Raya online".
