Even they say they will protect your privacy, some private information still able to retrieved by the other party in the company are another person using the same line with them.
Take a look at Google Spreadsheet for example. It is free. When they offer you web document storage for free, means, you're putting your personal data in someone else's hands that inviting risks.
Maybe you've saving some important data in the free spreadsheet such as you personal finance information, loan information and other private info regarding your money, family, career, business and financial data. Worse, you're saving company's data in there.
Please be aware. Hackers able to break out your password and in the same time deleting (or stealing) your identity. More than that, they will sell it and gained huge money.
How to protect your personal data in the internet? Here's a simple tip.
One way to keeping data safe online is using encryption. Programs such as PGP or or TrueCrypt (an open source encryption software) can scramble a file so that it can only be accessed with a unique password made by the software user.
File ecrypting process enable it to be unaccessable for no one other than the password owner can access sensitive information inside. When storing an encrypted file on the web, it is much safer this way, doesnt matter how large the file is.
