Here's a good news for AVG user and lovers. The popular antivirus current version of AVG 7.5, will be upgraded to AVG 8.0 . The Beta version of AVG8.0 will be stopped.
Rumours and official news said AVG 8.0 is schedued to be launched in the few next months. But recently, the company, AVG Technologies said they will release AVG 8.0 on 28 Feb 2006, this coming Thursday.
The commercial launch will give millions of AVG fans a taste of what to come and what is new in the antivirus software.
The new features are :
1. Firewall - has been rewritten and fully updated.
2. Real time warnings about 'poisoned' web pages. This new securty features brought to you by LinkScanner exploit protection technology, installed from Exploit Prevention Lab.
When you browse some poisoned web pages online, AVG 8.0 will warn you automatically. Other functions, AVG 8.0 will also warn about fishy sites that try to install add-ons and Active X scripts.
3. Rootkit detection feature, safe surf feature, search protection, ICQ and MSC protection features.
4. What's more? HTTP scanning of files, data scanning and documents scanning while in download proses.
But I wonder will this feature slows down the download time.
