I'm gonna show you steps to connect to the internet wirelessly using Digi wireless prepaid broaband.
Here's how.
1. First of all, you need to buy your own USB modem stick and one Digi Prepaid Broadband sim card. It is available in Digi mobile phone booth around your town, or you can buy limited edition Prepaid Broadband sim card. I'm using this right now to get online.
2. Start your pc or your laptop. You need to install the modem software first before you can connect to the internet wirelessly via DIgi Prepaid Broadband. When you insert the USB modem into any of your USB port, the installation process starts automatically. You need to do some clicking, usually for user's license agreement, language selection and the installation folder. The default installation folder is in your C hard drive.
3. When installation complete, the modem asks you to restart your computer or your laptop. Restart can be done automatically by clicking YES button prompted by the modem or you restart the computer later manually. Unplug the modem from its USB port.
4. After restart process, replug your USB modem into the USB port you use to install it. Its control window will appear automatically after the computer detects the USB modem. In the control window, you can see several commands such as Connect, SMS (short messaging service), contacts, Settings.
5. Wait for the covearge signal to appear before you click on Connect button. If 3G coverage available in your area, the modem will show it. Modem's LED light turns into a steady color.
5. GO to the Settings button. You need to set your modem to 3G coverage only. Why? Here's the reason. Do not choose to use Auto, 3G Preferred or GPRS because you will get a slow internet connection. Using the 3G Only setting can make your internet connection runs faster because the modem runs on 3G line only by default.
6. Wait for several second. The modem dialing to nearest network, just like your mobile phone dialing to the nearest network coverage before reaching the person you're calling. The modem is dialling the server. To do that, it need to reach the nearest network first before reaching the server.
7. When the modem connects into the network successfull, you will see a network statistic. Your modem will show how much data volume its received and its rate. The number runs wild each time you open up any webpage, means each time the modem downloads any data from the internet, the number will move frantically.
