At the first time i see the word colorful, i think its just "colorful", word with no meaning -just colors!. But when i look back carefully, its actually a brand name for a netbok laptop maker from China. Colorful has produce a new netbook laptop with screen size at 10" (inch) code named as Colorful s101 new York. Catchy name!
What's a new feature in Colorful s101 netbook laptop? Its screen will rotate automatically is you held the laptop vertically like in the image above. Fantastic. Means, if you want to flip this laptop vertically to make it stand steadily, you will get a nice, tall, skinny screen view.
As a laptop user, this feature benefits you in a certain way. You can make this laptop stand up right like reading an opened book, start enjoying movies, video clips, anime videos, read an eBook, a blog page, watch a YouTube video or simply listen to favorite mp3 tracks while you're doing something else in your house, in college class or on work desk. I think its quite unique if compared with screen feature offered by Litl Webbook which has a rotateable screen to 180 degrees backward but still maintains its horizontal screen view.
Colorful s101 has an accelerometer and a custom built software that makes its screen rotates automatically even you hold it up to its side. The accelerometer is also said to protect Colorful s101's hard drive from any kind of shock, it will turn off the hard disc temporarily if it detects the laptop falls down from something, according to news source from Liliputing.
Looks like this featured technology is very similar to HDD shock absrober technology used by Toshiba in their netbook laptop such as Toshiba NB200, NB205 and Toshiba's gaming laptop the Toshiba Qosmio X300.
Colorful s101 New York hardware specification is perfectly similar to most netbooks, its powered by Intel Atom N270 processor with speed at 1.66Ghz, 160GB hard disc drive (HDD), weighted at 1.1kg, its RAM is 1GB, limited to 2GB.
