Dell promised its new laptop owner to provide free upgrading to Windows 7 without any cost. Gateway, another laptop maker (a subsidiary of Acer) is also wrote that kind of promise on their laptop fliers and ads in Malaysian newspaper, if anyone purchase their new Vista laptop.
Hp mid 2009 buyers were also get mad to Hp because Hp tries to delay the upgrading option as promised the moment they buy new Hp laptops, which they think unmanaged professionally as stated in ComputerWorld news report. In the mean time, Microsoft has produce official "promise" to provide Windows 7 upgrading program free of charge for any new Windows Vista laptop buyer who bought new Vista laptop from June 26, 2009, and Jan. 31, 2010. Just wait folks. We dot knoe yet what Dell and Hp are doing right now.
