Cowon S9 is not just another Mp3 player, complete with right in the middle Play button, a touch screen and Bluetooth communcation port for easy file transfer to any media player availabe on any device that also carry Bluetooth.
PCWorld Australia labelled Cowon S9 as the main competitor for Apple iPod touch mainly because its weight is only half the weight of normal iPod touch, only aT 77 grams. Campbell Simpson from Googd Gear Guide called Cowon S9 as "We’d think the Cowon S9 is one of the best portable media players we have ever heard".
