Twitter Attacked By Spreading Malicious Programs

The worm that attacked Twitter used Java script to execute a malicious program within users’ Web browsers, which means both Windows and Mac were open to various worm attacks.

The worm spreads in Twitter in messages send to followers containing words such as "Mikey" or "Mikeyy" with shortened web url that brings the Twitter user to a malicious coded website, which spreads the worm further and deeper into Tweeter netwrok.

Be careful when you receive a message containing those words. To protect yourself form Twitter worm, please disable Java script in your current web browser.

To disable Java script in Mozilla Firefox, go to Tools -> Options -> Content. Please untick the button to disable Java script.
