What Is RSS Feed And How To Use It

RSS is a short description for "Really Simple Syndication". In simple words, RSS ia a news feed.

Lets think of it as personal blog wire service. On a blog, each time they've published a new content, it gets publicized out to the subscribers or anyone who new to your site. Means, each time you publish a new content, you will also produce a new RSS feed for readers to eat on.

How to use RSS feed? First, you need a RSS reader. It can be read using an Internet browser ( such as Internet Explore, Mozilla Firefox) and special built RSS readers. Depending on the reader, internet browsers see either the headline or the full article.

Let me give you an example. You can subscribe to any RSS feed availabe on your favourite site (news, blog content, forums, aticles site content). Lets say you have 100 of those. With RSS technology, you dont have to open each site individually and read what is the latest updates or latest news.

Istead, you collect all your subscribed RSS in one place. That is in a RSS reader you use, for example Google Reader. Google Reader constantly checks your favorite news sites and blogs for new content.

It does the work for you. Furthermore, Google Reader is totally free and works in most modern browsers, without any software to install. You can iew Google Reader service at http://reader.google.com/
