Intel Atom processor has a new rival. VIA, a Taiwan tech company also focusing in production of processor chip created a new chip for netbook laptops that works as the same capacity as Intel Atom processor. VIA latest processor was named VIA Nano 3000 CPU series, launced officially on 3 November 2009. It also works in notebook laptops and dekstop PC.
Intel Atom processor widely used as processor new in latest netbooks from famous brands of laptop makers such as Acer, Sony, Fujitsu, Toshiba, Lenovo, Dell and Hp. Before this, the closet rival of Intel Atom is AMD Neo X2 chip. VIA said in their press relese that the chip will deliver more computing experience, lower power consumption. I will wait for VIA Neo chip powered netbooks, maybe in cheper than current netbook's price.
