A "PC" as Apple always said refers to "any computer runs on Windows operating system". Each time we read, heard or stumbled upon word of "PC", an image of desktop computer will emerge in our mind. Is that correct? You may not believe what i'm saying after this.
Apple MacBook laptop itself is a mobile PC. Its a mobile personal computing device to be exact. What makes it different? It uses Apple's Macintosh (shortened as Mac OS) operating system, not Windows operating system. The word PC means "Personal Computer".
Any empty laptop without an operating system is actually a computer (mobile computer held on top of your lap) inside and outside before being installed with any kind of operating system. Its zero. All people will call it a laptop computer, just with word "laptop".
Lets say i install Linux Ubuntu OS into that empty laptop. The effect? You and i will say, its a open source laptop, a Ubuntu
laptop. Then, if i install Windows Xp into that empty laptop, what would you call it? A Windows laptop.
On the outside of its body, a laptop is just a laptop, an electronic personallized mobile computing device to be precise. On the inside, its OS engine is that makes us call it differently, either a Macbook laptop, an Ubuntu laptop, or a Windows laptop.
Each time you found a word "PC" ask what the sayer refers to - is it a windows powered laptop or an Ubuntu laptop? Did he/she refers to a Windows-installed desktop PC instead? Overall, PC means computers using windows OS - either desktop computer or a laptop computer.
