If you plans to buy a new laptop, here is my "guiding rule of "7-7-7".
The first 7: you will usually sick with your old desktop computer
1. realized you desperately need a laptop
2. hate being stuck in a little corner with good 'ol desktop computer
3. wanna enjoy mobile computing in the house garden full of fresh air
4. dreaming about the kind of laptop you wanna own
5. discovered you love small, cute laptops, cnt figure out what brand you like
6. your eyes catches a glimpse of Hp TV ads and it looks stunning - the Hp Mini Pink!
7. your girl"friend" talks a lot about Lenovo IdeaPad
Second 7: 1 hour before the process of buying (maybe 2-3 months before buying)
1. your boy"friend" sends texted story of his AlienWare gaming laptop to your iPhone
2. you've decided you wanna test out Windows 7
3. many tech blog said Vista always crashes it makes you skeptic
4. huh .. better survey first, look for computer shops
5. ah ha! found one.. enter and try out the displayed laptops for public test
6. plenty of laptop brands to try out, makes you really excited
7. all Vista laptops, where's a Windows 7 laptop? Go out and enter next computer shop
Third 7: finally, in the chosen computer shop
1. saw a $999 MacBook and you look into your wallet - pergghh, not enough money!
2. call your girl"friend" see if her opinion helps
3. the salesman persuades you to buy this laptop
4. you're uncomfortable, then calling your boy"friend" for help
5. both opinions were good, very helpful, but makes you doubtful
6. Windows 7 is still new, you're afraid to try something new
7. Finally you buy a laptop - the cute Windows XP powered Acer Aspire One!
