How To Rename A File, Folder Or An Icon In Windows XP
To rename a file, folder or an icon, use right click on your mouse. Most of computer users use left click as main click indicator. Lets say you want to rename My Computer icon on the Desktop to My Pc. Ok, here's how to do it. Click My computer icon to highlight it. Right click your mouse. (if you're using right mouse button as main cursor click, indicator left click your mouse).
A menu box will appear, which contains commands like Open, Explore, Create Shortcut, Delete and Rename. Click Rename. My Computer icon will be highlighted with blinking cursor, a sign for the user (you) to be able to rename the icon. Type "My Pc" in the rename box and press Enter for the change to take effect immediately. After that, your My Computer icon finally changed to My Pc.
