Your Mozilla Firefox slows down maybe because any one of these reasons:
1. Firefox is downloading latest updates in the background. Thus, its eats some of the internet bandwidth that use currently uses. Actually, you can do the Firefox updates process manually. Click Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Update -> Firefox to change auto update setting.
2. You computer's anti virus software is downloading automatic updates in the background. Thus, slows down internet connection and also slows down page load process in Mozilla Firefox.
3. Your computer RAM amount is low, about 128MB-256MB only. Upgrade to larger RAM, at least 1GB to get more memory space, thus enabling Mozilla Firefox to get more cache space while browsing the internet. Each time you open a new web page, blog or a website, it loads faster. This is because it was downloaded into your browser cache first before displayed on screen.
4. Mozilla Firefox add on is downloading their latest updates. This can be annoying. Why not choose to update it manually in your spare time? Change the setting in Tools -> Options -> Advanced - Update. Deselect the radio box for installed add-on.
5. You're opening more than 4-7 tabs in one time. To prevent Mozilla Firefox from slowing down, the best technique is to open up to 3 tabs only in a time for faster page loading speed.
5. There is a hidden spyware, malware or worm virus downloaded automatically into your computer. Close Mozilla Firefox and run a computer virus scan. If there is any spyware, malware or virus detected by your anti virus software, delete them. Don't quarantine because they still can slows down your internet connection especially while using Mozilla Firefox.
