HP Compaq will use cheap pricing strategy to make their netbook become widely popular among computer users, said Steven Hoffman, director of worldwide marketing, Personal Systems Group HP. Hp and Compaq will produce many cheap laptop in the forth coming months wchich meets recent technology standard. For example, recently Compaq has released their new 15.6 inch HD netbook called Compaq Presario CQ61z sold at only $399, almost same price with Fujitsu's netbook.
Compaq Presario CQ61z has 250GB hard disc storage capacity exceeds the usual standard for most netbook HDD that is usually at 160GB storage capacity, used in wide variety of netbooks such as Aspire One. I think Acer will come up with their 15 inch netbook too, maybe Sony, Asus and Fujitsu follows the same strategy to win more user - we will se more netbook becomes cheap in price, best in storage capacity and technology advancement.
I'm waiting for Dell to produce its own cheap netbooks. Come on Dell, Acer is following you as globals' second famous computer vendor. If HP Compaq enters Malaysian user market with many choices of cheap netbook, maybe they will gain Acer's crown as the popular brand for netbooks.
