Adobe Acrobat 9 has been installed with auto update feature. Although this auto update is good for a reason, sometimes its a bit annoying. Adobe Acrobat can be updates manually. There is no way to turn off the Adobe Updater from within the software setting. The auto update becomes active each time you open up a pdf documents with Adobe Reader 9.
To deactivate the Adobe Updater, go to toolbar notification. Look for Adobe Updater icon,right click on it then click "Quit" command. If the update process is still in progress while your computer connected to the internet, you can examine the update process by clicking "Show Progress".
