Chat & Mobile Text Messaging In Yahoo Mail Pretty Much Annoying

I was opening my Yahoo Mail account this evening when i've found the chat and mobile messaging future slows down the opening process becuase those two eats up lot of my internet connection. When I click Cancel, the chat still loading.

Looks like Yahoo Mail is following Gmail example, which Gmail has an chat enable feature inside it Gmail user log in to their Gmail account. Gmail uses Google Talk as chat feature, while Yahoo Mail uses Yahoo Messenger chat feature. There is no way to turn off that chat and mobile text messaging in Yahoo Mail. Couldnt it be "turn off chat" button anywhere in Yahoo Mail?

  1. During the past week, this same situation has intensely annoyed me, as well.
I have complained, by email, to Yahoo directly. Also, I have added my bitter commentary to the dozens of similar complaints on the Yahoo Messenger Blog at: www.ymessengerblog.com/blog/

If you review the comments on the Yahoo Messenger Blog, you will notice that this "slow-loading" problem has been going on for many months. The "variation" that you have reported here is simply the latest screw-up by insensitive Yahoo programmers and management --namely, that the cancel-button does not work. Working with email has slowed down to a snail's pace, and worse yet, that sluggish problem applies to the Yahoo-Plus paying-customers (who have spent a $19.95 annual fee for upgraded service!)
If this problem is not fixed soon, I will export my Yahoo email files to my Google account. Regardless of the outcome, I will eventually dump Yahoo altogether. I will not forget this aggravation.
